Training needs analysis (TNA) A training needs analysis is a systematic exercise to identify the skill and knowledge needs required by the business and then compare that requirement with an 'inventory' of current skill levels. The 'gap' between the two represents the training requirement.
Training needs may be analysed for selected groups of employees, specific roles or indeed corporately. Thomas Telford Training will work closely with you to ensure that your TNA has a clearly defined scope and is completely aligned with your business objectives.
Training project management Training programmes or 'rollouts' represent a significant investment on the part of our clients. Thomas Telford Training provides training project management services to ensure that such programmes are properly planned, co-ordinated and executed. We provide this service to our own clients and also offer it as a stand-alone service when internal or third party trainers are being used. Our training project manager will ensure that:
- the project planning is properly documented;
- stakeholders are properly consulted and informed;
- effective project communications are maintained;
- change controls are implemented; and
- the project is delivered on time, on budget and to specification.
Course design and development Thomas Telford Training is learner-centric. We recognise that delegates are individuals with different learning styles. We design into our courses a range of training devices that include:
- problem solving;
- individual work;
- group work;
- facilitated debate;
- visually appealing presentation and materials using diagrams, photographs and video;
- changes in pace - exercises against the clock and time to reflect;
- frequent opportunities for questions and answers;
- 'what-if' scenarios; and
- business and topic-specific case studies.
Our course materials are carefully designed to be user friendly and supportive. Our consultants can design materials using our client's brands and house styles if required.
Train the trainer programmes A train the trainer programmes enables our clients to use their own staff to deliver training designed and developed by Thomas Telford Training. This adds internal credibility to the training, ensures consistency in the messages being communicated within the training and also reduces expenditure on external training consultants. Train the trainer events are particularly appealing when rollouts are being conducted across a number of countries or regions.

- venue sourcing and booking services;
- marketing collateral to enable you to market the training internally;
- full delegate administration services including booking, confirmation letters, joining instructions and feedback trackin
- materials design production and shipping; and
- professional training project management.

Post-training support By prior agreement, Thomas Telford Training, ensures that course delegates are able to contact our tutor(s) for a defined period of time after the training event. This helps to embed the benefits from the training into every day working practices. We may also provide copies of learning materials accessible from corporate intranet sites or our own virtual learning centre. Clients wishing to use these services can obtain full details from their Thomas Telford Training Account Manager.
